Recently I have tried to play multiple mods and games that use Half-Life 2, but every time I start them up they crash. Sometimes it says HL2.exe needs to close and other times it says there is an engine error. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling Half-Life 2, but this doesn't seem to work. Please help me deal with this issue.
Because hl2.exe is what each source engine game uses, it isn't half life 2 that's the problem, it's the mods.
You're probably missing content that the mods need to run or your computer fails and can't play it.
Try redownloading the mods.
Well I tried that as well, but that never worked. Also whenever I try to start up Half-Life 2 or Garry's mod they crash with the same errors. Also my computer can handle these games easily, as I played them fine a week ago.
