Should Gender and Race options be removed from Applications? - Facepunch is Full of Racists Edition

A quick poll because I wanted to see what everyone though of removing those fields from job, college, and any kind of applications. If we are all supposed to be equals then why does it matter if you are a specific race or gender. The only place not to include this is medical forms because specific diseases are more prominent in some races.

well not necessarily it's good to know who is applying

but whether the applicant should get the job or not, it shouldn't come down to the color of their skin.

Gender and race are two completely different traits. When talking about an Asian man and an Asian woman, the race is completely out of the question and the fact is that one is a man and one is a woman. However, when talking about an Asian man and an Indian man, they are both men. Their race makes no difference.

Gender should matter, since females and males have different bodies (muscles and whatnot). Race should not matter.

There are unisex names and a lot of people who come to a country and get naturalize adopt different names or give their children similar names.

Having these options can still be used for statistical purposes also.

unisex names aren't as common

giving children standardised names is still luck of the draw

the point is that there would still be discrimination, knowingly or otherwise
