I have a 500GB SATA hard drive, I can't tell you more than that because I don't have the box right now.

You can't open the computer and see what PSU you have?
Well that is at least 160$ less to spend, probably +30 as the case is most likely reusable. You surely do not need a powerful rig to play source games.
If he can re use the psu he can go with that little APU build I found on newegg.
