Alright guys. So my parents got me a pre-built model because they are stupid but anyways, I have decided to build on this. I have a budget of $300-$400 bucks to make this baby into a gamer-friendly PC.
Specs
Processor: AMD Phenom II X4 830 Processor @ 2.80 GHZ
GAM: 6 GB DDR3
Power Supply: 250 Watts (I know, its wimpy)
HDD: Seagate 750 GB running at 7200
My motherboard has 3 empty card slots: 1 PCIe, 1 PCIe x16 card, and a Minicard slot.
More info if needed:

There is no phenom 830, or GAM for that matter. Download, run and post results from http://www.piriform.com/speccy
By the looks of it you have an integrated card, so you'll be needing a PSU and GPU, i'd suggest getting a GTX460 with a Corsair 650 Watt powersupply.

Alright, are you in CA or in US?
Reading by his profile it says US.

I stand corrected, apparently there is a phenom 830. However you should just do what the above post said and get a decent PSU and a 460

Install the GPU drivers from the NVidia website and don't use the CD drivers.
And if you really want to upgrade something else get a new motherboard, the default HP boards are plain awful.

Depends, should it be uATX or ATX?
I wanna say uATX to be safe but then again....

How many expansion slots does your motherboard have?
Also you might also have to get a new CPU due to all motherboards i have seen so far wont support the Phenom X4 830, i think it is an OEM processor.

Perhaps I should just wait until the right one comes out. I think I will just stay with the shitty hp one for now.

The HP motherboard will work fine, just don't expect it to give you access to advanced BIOS settings.

Or to have a long lifespan for that matter.

Yeah I wasn't expecting either but its all right. I just want to play the latest games. Not really overclock the computer of anything.
Get the GTX460 combo and this:
