• USB Monitor not working on my mITX board

I got a USB Monitor from scan.co.uk (Mimo UM-720s) to be exact. Which works great on all computers except 1... When i connect it to this particular computer it does this: Now i have checked all drivers, ensured all cables are connected, system specs are correct. But still no go The PC Specs are Via C3 (nehemiah) 1Ghz (oc'd to 1.3Ghz) 512mb ram Onboard Via Gfx USB 2.0 I managed to get it working on another older computer which specs were: AMD Athlon 1.7Ghz 512mb Ram Onboard gfx (slightly updated chipset) USB 1.1 I cannot seem to figure out the problem. The only possible solution i can think of is the graphics card can't handle it, but a USB monitor shouldn't really rely on the graphics card should it? I don't really want to have to buy another graphics card if i can help it but no where seems to have one for a reasonable price and i only really need it for 5mins to test it. If anyone has any input on this it would be appreciated Pics of monitor when it is working:
I'd think it was one of two things: 1) The CPU overclock is causing the USB controller to break (since it's probably integrated into either the NB or SB, and those get overclocked with the FSB speed. 2) VIAs USB 2.0 implementation is flawed and doesn't properly support the USB monitor. It wouldn't surprise me if it was this, they've had terrible problems with hardware bugs for as long as I can remember. There was one notorious bug back in the early 2000s where if you used a VIA chipset with an AMD processor and a Creative SB Live! together, it would cause hard drive corruption.
What would you advise i do then? I got a sorta budget of £100 for whatever i need, only problem is if i need a new mobo it needs to be mITX but it also needs to be one that only requires 20pin power and not the additional 4pin because then i would need to buy another power supply
Most ATX boards that have 24 pin power connectors are backwards compatible with 20 pin power supplies. The only exception is usually if you have a power hungry CPU that pulls over 95W. You could try getting something like this: http://www.amazon.com/Intel-Dual-Core-Mini-ITX-Motherboard-BOXD525MW/dp/B0041RSC94/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1308195056&sr=1-1 But anything with a discrete CPU is probably going to go over your budget. You'll still need RAM for that too because that VIA C3 probably uses PC-100/133.
Nah the car PSU won't support anything with a 24pin, it only provides 2A over the 12v line, normally boards that have the 4pin CPU power connector draws more than that... I've solved the problem anyway and bought a VGA touch monitor, so i have this USB one up for sale, gonna sell it for a very reasonable price
