Source Filmmaker may be able to render CGI cartoons?

Is it possible, and has it happened? SFM looks so smooth that this could happen. Any thoughts?
I mean, if you're good enough with it then sure.
Are you asking that you could make a cartoon in sfm? Or that you could use the sfm renderer for a pre-made cartoon in another program?
If a studio can make shorts in the Quake engine using mostly original assets, I'm pretty sure you can do it with SFM.
Lazytown uses UE3 for their CG, so, sure, it can be done if you really wanted to.
Hell, this Japanese animated feature was painstakingly produced using Adobe Illustrator for everything but the 3D CG portions. Almost the entire movie is vectors by one guy.
