• Windows re-activate after system recovery?
    5 replies, posted
Sup guys, Having a bit of an issue here. I had a system crash a few days ago and I needed to do a recovery install on my computer. Strange thing is, it's asking me to revalidate my copy of windows now. So, I entered my product key and now it says the key isn't valid. Any help? Edit If a mod could move this to the technical help section. It'd be greatly appreciated
Hm, In what way did you get your windows? ( No i am not talking about warez, But i know that some amateur pc builders use the same cd-keys to register windows which is a shame) If you bought it in a store then just contact microsoft.

I used a copy of windows which I had purchased.
The only thing i can advise is contacting microsoft then.. Sorry. Is there any possibility that someone got your key?
Windows likes to throw this at you from time to time. It's mostly just a way to prevent you from moving an install of XP from system to system as well as filters out fake keys. However you should have a legit copy of XP....right? :cop:
Yep! it's legit. Any recommendations?
