This is actually really cool.
along with the option to add non-Origin games to your library and an assortment of tweaks.
Good.
"Steam does everything that Origin does but better!"
EA, stop being competent with Origin! It's making it harder to blindly hate this particular part of your services!
Smart move, EA. Add a feature that Steam doesn't have so Origin could have more users.
the will FRY your cpu's and swallow your download and upload
the will FRY your cpu's and swallow your download and upload
Well it would already if you planned on streaming, unless you used another PC to stream the output from the PC you were playing.
the will FRY your cpu's and swallow your download and upload
Your software is messed up if it fries the CPU and you shouldn't even be streaming if you can't use the internet normally while streaming in my opinion. I stream daily and there's literally no difference in my download/upload speeds because 1) it's the best connection in my area, one of the best in the country 2) you shouldn't max out the quality, balance it. Sacrifice some video quality for audio or heck even your own stuff.
"Steam does everything that Origin does but better!"
Until literally just now that was true. Even then it's only really a minor feature, I can stream any steam game I want easily. You're doing it wrong.
Hopefully valve takes the idea soon.
I'm glad programs like xsplit will have competition now as well considering quiet a lot of people use it
Let's not forget how Origin allowed you to install your games to different drives long before Steam did. Also, Origin does not consistently lock up on me whenever I try to navigate it.
I figured Steam would have done this long ago what with the video page in the community. Hopefully this move will inspire Steam to implement something similar.
"Steam does everything that Origin does but better!"
Woah, they managed to get "one" new feature into the platform. Amazing!
well at least they are trying hopefully valve will take this as real competition and add this service into steam aswell
Xfire already has this but the steam cocksuckers who post on these forums still won't admit Xfire has more features.
Valve should add some sort of livestreaming feature.
Hopefully valve takes the idea soon.
the vast majority of users don't have the connection, let alone the hardware, to stream. Allot of streamers who know what they are doing use a separate PC dedicated to doing the streaming, because running the stream program and the game on the same PC is too much for even high end systems granted this depends on the game
I still prefer steam because hah, fat chance of origin ever coming to linux.
I'm just afraid of the day when EA add's something to their client that is just killer and I'll be standing in between two door ways one marked "Origin" and another marked "Steam" And i'll be there in the middle of the two slowly placing my hand on the Door to Origin but then I stop myself and realize what Valve has done and given us and I'll move my hand over to the Steam door but then I realize something Origin has that steam doesn't and I'll just be stuck between the door
Valve has been working on recording support in steam, just not streaming
