I've been with this game since the original beta stage, and I have to say I am intensely proud of what the new producer has done with the game. He's taken it from something that looked like it was doomed to failure, to something that people who quit early on are looking forward to. A good analogy to me would be that this game is almost like a phoenix, with how this game has basically been rebuilt from the ground up.
I really hope this fixes all the problems it originally had. I spent years playing Final Fantasy XI, and was really excited when they announced FFXIV. Like many, I felt let down, so i'm hoping A Realm Reborn will be my replacement FFXI.
You know, I might never play it, but you gotta fucking admire how much their producer for this game wants to make it a winner.

I agree with this. Most companies nowadays do it simply because they don't want people to hate them, but this man shows a lot of pride in his work.
If this company have not done this yet, I recommend they sell their game at steam so that they could gain some more sales to help out this project.

Give me some form of trial and I'll try it out just because of the producer's heart.

I wanted to like this game at launch, I played quite a bit of it but it just wasn't any good. I probably won't revisit it even despite the patch but it's really nice to see how much the devs of this game want to make it good and how sorry they are for the lackluster state of the game at launch.
no kidding the game is fucking unplayable i bought it nearly two weeks ago and havent started it up properly yet because its such a fucking unstable piece of shit

There will be a free trial at some point afaik, and you'll be able to sign up for the beta soon as well.
I tried the first beta, will definitely give this another chance.
