Thought it'd be about some new and amazing parallax mapping technique
Ever since I played Psychonauts' Milkman stage, I've wanted more levels/games with variable gravity. I'll happily take this experiment.
That level has some incredibly smooth twists and curves, too.
Trippy. What's the gameplay like though, aside from wrapping your mind around that?
I want to play this.

If by gimmicky you mean has an interesting art style combined with some cool gravitational mechanics, then yeah about as gimmicky as you can get.
Not as creative as Antichamber.
