Screw this shit, i'm going home!
At least they're the first to be honest and call a re-release something closer to what it is than "OMG HD REMAEK LOLOLOLO"
VII remake pls
Rerelease FFIX. It's older and was a million times better.
Why remaster the shit one instead of the one everybody wants? FF7.
FUUUUUUCK!
I was honestly hoping for a remake! :suicide:
Oh well, I'll still buy it.
Fuck 7 do 9.
There was some really strange localisation in FFX. They changed the species of bird that the main character is. Listen:

Seagull

Crow
Why the hell would they choose to remake 10? The obvious choice is 7, although my personal favorite is 9.
9 please, but leave the songs and stuff intact. Just make it look nice and better gameplay and whatnot BUT DON'T TOUCH THE SOUNDTRACK!
I hope they actually are improving the textures and models, and aren't just porting it to a 720p resolution. To me, that doesn't equate to being HD if all you're doing is updating the resolution. I remember RE4 and MGS used that "HD" term for their recent products, and all it was just the resolution being updated and ported onto two platforms. If you need a good example of how to do it, look at Serious Sam HD; same games, updated engine, looks great with the new textures and models. Other than that, I liked FFX, but it really is weird that out of all the titles they have, they chose to remaster this one. There are arguably many other titles in the series deserving of this treatment.

Agreed. Playing the PSOne version on PS3 right now.
VI > Everything
Agreed. Playing the PSOne version on PS3 right now.
Agreed. Playing the PS1 one on my PS1 right now.
Why the hell would they choose to remake 10? The obvious choice is 7, although my personal favorite is 9.
Because the FFX models are still relatively decent looking. They can just enhance them. FF7 models would need a complete remake.
FF7 models would need a complete remake.
Damned right they would, since FFVII didn't even used models: it used really blocky sprites.
Damned right they would, since FFVII didn't even used models: it used really blocky sprites.
uh, no. FF7 did have models. The field models were a blocky mess but the battle models weren't bad.
Looked through the list of PSVita games on Wikipedia and came to the conclusion that PSVita has NO good games yet. So I won't be buying it when it's out.

The characters were simplified lego model blocks practically, with a lack of textures aside from the eyes. But they were still models. :v:
If they were to do any sort of remake or re-release of VII, yet keep the game the 'same' at its base instead of going full-blown, the best suggestion I can make is to take a page from the modding scene for the PC version; full-sized and textured character models outside of battle, with Cloud's Buster Sword visible on his back (unless drawn), and maybe some cleaning up of the details on the pre-rendered backgrounds. I think they originally intended for characters to be full-sized but the release schedule snogged that.
But then people would complain that it isn't true to the original, probably.
I really think the game should be remade in some ways. I mean, FFX DID have some faults...
9 please, but leave the songs and stuff intact. Just make it look nice and better gameplay and whatnot BUT DON'T TOUCH THE SOUNDTRACK!
FF9 probably had the best soundtrack. Even if half the tracks were just re-arrangements of Melodies of Life.
I guess I'm one of the few that actually likes X?
But besides that Square Enix is rather stupid. Give the fans what they want and make a ass load of cash on a FF7 remake for the PS3, everyone wins. Instead they just keep making Final Fantasy more stupid and medicore.
Keep in mind that this is also just a remastered FFX and not remake. The PS1 titles would just look like ass in 1080 with all those prerendered environments, X and X2 nearly do on PCSX2 with it being rendered in HD.

10 and 12 are only 1 gen behind the porting is much easier, VII would take time but I am sure square could do it easily

12 is also getting a HD remake and rumorred X-2
12 is also getting a HD remake
If they remake 9 I'll buy a PSVita.
[editline]6th February 2012[/editline]
Also Legend of Dragoon.
If they remake 9 I'll buy a PSVita.
Instant buy. And there's nothing else on the Vita I'm even remotely interested in.
I've been replaying through 9 on my PS1.
Also Legend of Dragoon. Fuck it remake every PS1 game for the PSVita, it'd be the best handheld in history.
VII needs a remake, yes.
I remember reading an interview with one of the Final Fantasy designers which said that it's practically impossible to make FFVII with a production value like FFXIII has, because it would be an insane amount of work (FFVII had a lot of side areas and missions). Says a lot about how modern gaming is dumped down to allow for more graphical prowess.
Why are people getting upset over this glorious movie getting a HD remaster? Square might also be HD'ing some Final Fantasy games as well, they just want to tease you a little first.
