What exactly is the difference between func_vehicle and whatever source uses? Because as far as I can tell you can already do vehicles in source.

Actually, I'm pretty sure CS: Source had func_vehicle, but I'm not sure how their code is for that specific map.
I'm pretty sure Source didn't have func_vehicle, people just found a different way to get people to drive items.

In source it was done by making brushes physics objects and tying player inputs to different thrusters placed on it, lots of problems however are related to that vehicle solution(Server stress, player hitboxes acting funny around physics objects, friction issues, etc.) Generally it was even more broken than the func_vehicle we all know and love from goldsrc
