Pretty interesting to say the least, i wouldnt have expected this sort of design error to occur
Wouldn't you need to have your Pi "naked" for this to happen? Why wouldn't you get an external case for something like this? Are people really that stingy?

He looks like a fatter version of Jason Statham. Also understandable thing to overlook and doesn't really harm anyone. If you need a solution for a critical project you should go for something a bit more robust anyway.
One teaspoon of karma.
So buy a case right when I get one, got it.
As long as you don't go flashing it with xenon it'll operate normally.
So buy a case right when I get one, got it.
You can just put something opaque on the power supply. Or don't shove a Xenon flash on it.
Put some black marker on the component and done.

I've never trusted camera flashes around electronics for years. Back in the EPROM era if you didn't properly mask the quartz window the UV light from the flash would scramble the EPROM and you'd have to burn it again, assuming you had an image handy.
With how cheap these things are wouldn't a case not really be worth it? Forgive my ignorance but why can't people just put it in a shoebox?
Forgive my ignorance but why can't people just put it in a shoebox?
take a box and cut a hole in it for wires, put a tiny fan on the other side bam you have a case that doesn't cost a damn fortune.
Forgive my ignorance but why can't people just put it in a shoebox?
Cardboard and duct tape. Because fuck buying a case that costs around 1/4 of the boards value.
The thing is so small it's easy to fabricate your own casing for it.
Forgive my ignorance but why can't people just put it in a shoebox?
Because having a pretty case for your pi is nice?
