A lot of people here are going to be pissed that World of Warcraft is on the top of this list but...it's really, really hard to do better than WoW.
lmao the old republic is on that list even Tera is better
Hey at least all the games on this list have actually been released. there was that one list put out by the same site that had like 15 games that weren't even out yet.
EVE at 7? TOR at 10? What a list.
allow me to remind you that these MMOs you already know still exist also I pegged 'rift' more as a westernized Aion clone back in the day
swtor beating out dcuo for the #10 spot lol
This is a great list. Whenever I get a better computer I can definitely see myself playing Guild Wars 2. I mean look at the screenshot, pretty.
EVE at 7? TOR at 10? What a list.
Hey DuCT, Nick here from PCGamesN. Just like to remind you that the list is in no particular order at all. Thanks.
Out of all those games the only one that really stuck with me was Guild Wars 2. I played for weeks on end shortly after it was released, I stopped playing it around february though. The free week came out a while ago and I decided to try using it to test the stability on my sister and mothers new PC's. They liked it so much they've actually bought it and play it endlessly.
Hey DuCT, Nick here from PCGamesN. Just like to remind you that the list is in no particular order at all. Thanks.
sorry, but a numbered list with WoW and some other major players at the top is a bad choice for playing it as randomly ordered. If it's not in order though I don't feel as mad about the fact it seemed like it was starting at #1 and going downhill, which is bad form in its own right like, I don't want to tell you how to write because hell if I can structure anything outside of a good rant, but these feel like some major faux-pas. also from past experience, signing up on sites to directly defend your article or artwork or other works tends to invite a lot of unnecessary harassment thanks to mob mentalities but thanks for hopping on to discuss
Hey DuCT, Nick here from PCGamesN. Just like to remind you that the list is in no particular order at all. Thanks.
Assuming you're actually a writer from the site and not just a guy with enough free time to pretend to be from said site, your list's easily confusable for a ranking list by the fact that it's numbered, which is typically associated with rankings. An un-numbered list would have worked just as well. Oh, and mildly off-topic, but while you're here can you tell Fraser to actually play a game of Left 4 Dead for once in his life? Pretty obvious he's never even touched it and doesn't understand how it works, going by his list of L4D3 features he wanted. [editline]ECH[/editline] Why must I take so long to type, beaten out before I hit enter by Daijitsu.
-snip- there don't have to be 3 posts about the same thing.
As much as I hate the game now WoW is still one of the best experiences in videogames I've ever had. I've met so many different and interesting people through it, it's just a shame I've gotten to a point where it feels like I've seen all the game has to offer.
LOL TOR IS ON TEH LIST WTF THAT GAME IS GARGBAGE LOLOL Has anyone saying that actually played it? It's a solid MMO. It had a rough launch, yes, but what MMO doesn't? If you treat the awful F2P model as a trial to the game, and consider it subscription based, its a good MMO. And the way story factors into the game is the best I've seen done in an MMO. No other MMO comes close to it.

I agree that maybe numbering them has an adverse affect. I'll discuss this with my editor. There were originally 15 MMOs in the list, but the draft was so long we decided to cut it down to 10. I think after making the cuts I could've arranged the list with a bit more care. However I think the crux of the issue is with the numbers, even though I did state in the intro that the list wasn't ordered. As for signing up to Face Punch: I think acknowledging, responding and taking action on feedback/critique is important. There's always going to be a lot of riff-raff, but it's usually worth it when someone from outside your perspective actually teaches you something. How can I criticise games for a living if I cannot take criticism myself ?
no maplestory this list is total garbage
EvE is #7 just above Runescape and TOR makes the list. Meh

World of Warcraft is still fun and playable. I come crawling back to it every year. GW2 bored me to tears and I have no desire to go back to it. Does anyone else feel the same way?
World of Warcraft is still fun and playable. I come crawling back to it every year. GW2 bored me to tears and I have no desire to go back to it. I've been trying to go for a second playthrough now but man, it's hard.
GW2 was ok until I got to level 30 I can't even bother playing it for more than 10 minutes now
Yeah, it's basically another themepark MMO with less tangible rewards for your efforts and slightly less awful number bar combat.

Does anyone else feel the same way?
Back when I played WoW I came back a few times for expansions but the endgame community was really gated on my server, though I know everyone complains about "needing to run the dungeon for the gear but people won't run it with you if you don't have the gear yet"
GW2 is fun for one character to level 80, but with GW2, if you've done it once, you've done it all. ".
WoW gets a bad rap but I really do enjoy it
no maplestory this list is total garbage
say what you will maplestory is really good if you dont take it seriously and want mind-numbing tedium
Runescape will always be #1 in my heart.
Oh, now I actually spotted a mistake in the article, it still says "Here’s my list of the 15 best MMOs on the market. ".
That was rather embarrassing =D. All fixed now and thanks for spotting it <3.
