As I figured
Damnit microsoft, I was excited for this, thanks for fucking that over for me. Assholes.
basically, microsoft is like "FUCK CROSS COMPATIBILITY FUCK OTHER CONSOLES FUCK GOOD GAMES"
well that was the overwhelming message of the (fucking shite) microsoft conference
And this is why I like sony. They may not bend over for customers when it comes to the owning the console but for the developer, if its a developer they will gladly take it up the ass.
Plus, with XBox there's always the TF2 Problem. (AKA it takes two weeks to get a patch out and MS wants to charge for new content).
for some reason I came in expecting info on the game 'From Dust'
Plus, with XBox there's always the TF2 Problem. (AKA it takes two weeks to get a patch out and MS wants to charge for new content).
I think that's pretty much the problem. The game will have to be constantly updated to be in sync with EVE and that's a problem when the patches take forever to go out.
While I do understand their logic regarding not doing a PC version, it seems fallacious; I have played EVE in the past, and while I found the universe, premise and scope brilliant, the combat just felt dull (likely due to not being a fan of RPG auto-hit systems). I would love to play Dust on my PC instead, but it's apparently not on the cards. I'll still probably get the game in any case (if you've got the console to play it on and are interested, might as well), but it seems illogical.
Foreword: MS's QA is shit, I know, they have become too closed in that regard, they don't seem to realize and understand that developers are not going to intentionally release a game-breaking patch, in fact, MS has released more game-breaking patches than any other developers combined, but anyway, on the subject of the whole multiplatform gameplay subject: Many people claim its beings PS3 exclusive because Microsoft "isn't open" to multiplatform gameplay. Ahem, and behold PC, PS2 and Xbox 360 players interacting on one server. I didn't see MS bitching about that. Along with that it had patches that didn't need to go through MS's unnecessary QA examinations, but it was probably special circumstances.
That also came out when the xbox had no fucking games besides call of duty 2 and sports titles. [editline]9th June 2011[/editline] So yeah. From what you're saying microsoft still has the same policies that they did for xbox live five years ago. [editline]9th June 2011[/editline] There's no others besides that and shadowrun and those were years ago.
