I was going to get the new Xbox (I do not have an Xbox), but I thought about upgrading my PC. I was wondering out of the two, what you would choose?
Peeeeceeeee
Give us your PC specs and budget and we can help.
I lol'ed when I saw "new xbox" since the 360 is about 5 years old. But yea we'd need your pc specs to tell you.
Specs:
NVIDIA GeForce GTS 250
RAM: 3326 Mb
Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo 2.20GHz
Budget of around 700$-1000$
Oh and 500 GB Hard Drive if you needed to know that.

Just grab a new GPU, and maybe a quad core CPU of the same socket. Your PC is already better than any XBOX hardware wise.
Any suggestions on the GPU?

Also check your PSU In-case, Make sure it's at least 500 watts with more than 20 a on the +12v Rail.
What's wrong with the GTS 250?
Im using a 9800GT and it's been fine till now.
I'd get the 360.
PSU is 1000 W with 36 on the 12v Rail, So I am fine there.

XBOX 360 is 5 years old and outdated.
Why not just invest in a new GPU and CPU.
Edit: Rate me dumbs and bad reading. :3:

Wait, does he have a 360, and is considering buying an original xbox?

It's all about the resolution and what games. My 9800gtx was not fine with 1920x1200 on most games, except source. Yet it was a great card, especially to fit my budget back when I bought it.
Get a 5850, you won't regret it. (If you're over 1650x1050 I'd recommend it. If you're under, get a full HD monitor instantly which you won't regret either).
XBOX 360 is 5 years old, and he already has one. He doesn't really need a second one. -.-

He doesn't have a Xbox.
if you have a budget of 1000$ buy your self a new computer or upgrade it and als buy a xbox 360 with kinect

They've recently announced a re-hashed version of the xbox

Still the same old hardware though.

He doesn't have a budget of 1000$. Also Kinect (I know what it is)?
Yea, but it's still pretty much the same on the inside, gaming wise at least.
Then new 360 has better hardware. I'm buying it when I sell my old one.

No, it doesn't. It has the same hardware but it, hopefully, won't heat up like a mother fucker a brick itself anymore, be it by more vents on it or a new motherboard.
And don't count internal WiFi as new hardware.

The new chips are 45 nm instead of what was it 65 or 90 nm when it was released? That and one big fan instead of two small ones.
Get this CPU:

And this GPU:

or if you want to spend more on the GPU:

Upgrade your CPU to an E6600, OC it to 3.8ghz with an aftermarket cooler. Grab the HIS HD5830 for $200, or an HD5770.
That's an awful idea.
But then again it's Shadow187, I'm surprised he didn't recommend a P4 and OC it to 10GHz instead.

Xbox Slim you dolt.
Xbox Slim you dolt.
The XBOX 360 Slim is a retarded version of the XBOX in an Alienware looking 'slim' styled case. It's adding money for a case.

No. Please get out. Don't you mean build yourself a new computer, and get a new XBOX 360, with no kinect, because it is overpriced?

Just curious, what CPU, and what games couldn't it handle?
I'm leaning toward what FINLEY suggested.

only 36A? That's terrible.
