Hello Everyone,
I was wondering if there is a fa speed control program out that can control the speed of a computer fan according to the CPU usage, not temperature... So say you started a GMod server and the usage spiked, the fan would also spike in speed. I think this would be epic, be like your computer revs up. anyone know of such a program?
Thanks in advance.
I thought i would come in here seing a video about a fan going at 20.000 RPM or something.
Anyways, i haven't heard of a program like this, but it's a good idea.

This. I always wanted this. Especially when I'm defragging and scanning at the sametime when In had my Pentium.
since I was running IGPs my temp would skyrocket from 50 to 80 instantly

RivaTuner allows you to change fan speed, although I don't quite think that it monitors temperature as well.
A lot of motherboards have support for that feature built in, you may need to install drivers for it or a BIOS update. That would be the first place I'd check.

I use speed fan, doesnt do what your asking but u can change them manually.. even changes the fan on my hyper 212
I'm pretty sure Nvidia system tools can change the CPU/GPU fan speed according to usage/temp/etc.
The system has an ATI GPU with a Intel CPU so the nvidia tools are ruled out and the AMD cool'n'Quiet is rlued out too, speedfan, I already have that installed, it cant do it for CPU usage and rivatuner cant either.
I believe Intel has a Cool'N'Quiet aswell, but goes under a different name.
I think it's Q-Fan
I'm not sure about nvidia, usally their graphic cards does this by default, or are locked at a certain speed.

It's speed step.
I'm really surprised at how well Cool n' quiet works; I can rarely hear my CPU fan if it isn't stressed, and I can faintly hear it when it's being taxed.
Like someone mentioned, you can set RivaTuner up to do this, if you get the right plugins for CPU and Fan control activated. It can pick up usage and temps of the CPU, so you do have a choice in which it uses. Though it depends if the CPU fan is picked up by it or not (I think it only likes GPU fans).
My 5850 sounds like a hair dryer and blasts shitloads of air when I set the fan to 100%.

yeah it is suppose to do that just check your bios, ACPI is suppose to handle the fanspeeds aswell
Surely CPU usage == temperature

That translation isn't instant though.
You could go learn C++ for a year and make your own program that allows you to do such tasks.
