how very disappointing.
If you dont have a HDTV and its 2012, you should definitely get one
world size of 1024x1024x1024 blocks? 1024 blocks high? That doesn't sound right considering the PC version only has 256.
Doesn't the xbox just upscale to full hd with a hardware chip? I do understand this choice, played MGS4 on a SD tv and the hud wasn't readable unless you were sitting 30 centimeter from your tv. Also weird that Notch didn't know about this, seems pretty important.

If you don't have an HDTV, then it's time for an upgrade.
Who hasn't got a HDTV by now?
If you dont have a HDTV and its 2012, you should definitely get one
Sure man, just send the money my way so I can afford it.
Who hasn't got a HDTV by now?
My Dad, 32" shit box FTW!

The more I read about Minecraft x360, the more of a money-printing excuse it seems.
The more I read about Minecraft x360, the more of a money-printing excuse it seems.
how does porting a game to a different platform make it a money printing excuse?
I still have my big ass CRT monitor from like years ago completely dedicated to gaming. Its not HD.
I've had a 360 and PS3 for years now and i'm still on an SDTV. It's terrible, pretty much every game that wasn't released within a year of the console has extremely hard to read text.
Also weird that Notch didn't know about this, seems pretty important.
Eh, I don't find it weird at all considering he pretty much washed his hands of Minecraft.
Who hasn't got a HDTV by now?
I play my Xbox on my PC monitor through a VGA.
I play my Xbox on my PC monitor through a VGA.
I'd be doing this if the cable wasnt $40
My PC monitor is the same size as my HDTV, I don't understand why I'm not allowed to play splitscreen on that.
and is simply blocked from poor SD users.
Don't worry, if you're a rich SD player you're fine
Don't worry, if you're a rich SD player you're fine
Sounds like an oxymoron.
I play my Xbox on my PC monitor through a VGA.
Same here. Got tired of not being able to read anything on my shitty small sd tv. The vga cable was totally worth it.
Who hasn't got a HDTV by now?
Me, because I never watch TV. [editline]10th May 2012[/editline] Seriously, the only TV I ever watch comes in over the airwaves. Cable is a waste of money. Spending thousands on an HDTV is a waste of money because monitors are better quality all around for a fraction of the cost. I see no reason to get rid of my old CRT which I barely ever turn on.
I'd be doing this if the cable wasnt $40
Ebay, $5.

Now, if given the choice, I'd take the monitor over the TV any day ($50 cheaper and significantly better quality), but don't even go saying that you have to dish out hundreds upon hundreds of dollars for an hd television. This isn't 2004. [editline]10th May 2012[/editline]
I'd be doing this if the cable wasnt $40
3 meter cable, $5. It's a whole load of bullshit.
Who hasn't got a HDTV by now?
You'd be surprised. We still have quite a few people who come into the store looking for standard S-AV cables because they still have SDTV. Also, how do you have both HD systems but somehow manage to not have even a cheap HDTV? Seriously, you can get them for ~$200-300 now.
I had a SDTV up until 5 years ago. Oh my god was it beautiful when I switched to HD, I could finally read the text in Dead Rising.

Oh right, via an Xbox to VGA cable, the official version happening to cost around forty dollars. I'd hardly call that someone inventing numbers.

(Though to be fair, most display TVs at stores like wal-mart look bad because they split the same signal over dozens of TVs.) I'm aware that the cable itself is bullshit, I'm just pointing out that he didn't pull the numbers out of thin air.
