So I have this dumb piece of shit of a cat who insists to bite up my headphone cables (and sometimes charger cables. Interestingly he never bites ANYTHING else.)
Somehow I still love him tho
regardless, He's now bitten through my fourth set of headphones.
I need a pair of headphones with decent sound, that have similar build to the QPAD QH-90 (the ones I have right now), but with a stronger cable. Why the QPDAD QH-90?
- They're cushioned
- They don't block out sounds, so I can speak without feeling super awkward about my internal voice
- Good sound
But shit cable
So help
(Also I did try the water-spray treatment on the cat, but that shit don't work :v:)
What the fuck are you waiting for, eat him already
Or 598s if you're feeling expensive
I have a pair of Sennheiser HD558s that I love and are very comfortable
buy one of these replacement cables if there's one for whatever headphones you get, because they're amazing and solve every problem I've ever had with a stock cable
Ooooo, that pricetag. The ones I have at the moment cost about $110, those Sennheisers are almost double that.
I might consider it though.
As for replacement cables, as far as I know I can't do that with these headphones. Cable goes straight into the left side and don't exactly unplug, so it's probably attached in there.
I have Sennheiser HD600s myself but that's for audio production purposes. Keep in mind though that 558s, 598s, and 600s, are all open back headphones. So if you only plan on using these headphones at your computer exclusively, that's great. Just don't expect to be using them on the go because of the insane noise bleed.
Your current set, the QPAD QH-90, is a closed back gaming headset. If you'd rather go with close back headphones, I think the best two you can get that's for around the same prices as your last pair is the Sennheiser HD449 (Around $100) and the Shure SRH440 ($99). If you want to step that up a bit, I'd look into AKG K550s ($250) or Beyerdynamic DT770-Pro80s ($200, which are cloth padded instead of leather if that's your thing).
I think mostly it comes down to if you want open or closed headphones, and how much you wanna pay. Here are some more good ones worth giving a look.
*Audio-Technica ATH M50 ($140)
*Audio-Technica ATH M40 (Less than $100)
*Sennheiser HD280 ($80-100)
When it comes to brands, I tend to favor Sennheiser, AKG, Beyerdynamic, and AT. They tend to pump out the best quality headphones, coming from a studio engineer's perspective anyways. There are plenty of good ones I'm sure I missed.
They're on Overstock.com for $150, absolutely worth it
These? Because the price I'm seeing is SEK 1431.00, which is about 220 dollars. So exactly double of what I payed for the ones I have now. :v

Closed or open back doesn't matter much to me, since I'll be using them at home. I use in-ear headphones when I'm outside. The most important factors are that they sit well and I can hear myself clearly when I speak (few things annoy me more about headphones than putting them on and only hearing my internal voice).
Good quality is pretty important too.
I'll check out the M40 ones. I'll have to put my trust into Audio-Technica. They do make kickass microphones so hopefully they're worth the price.
My budget cannot exceed about 130 dollars though.
Cloth-padded is what the QPAD ones use and it's the most comfortable thing in the universe to have on my ears, so that's what I'll try going for. The M40's aren't but I guess I might have to compromise.

Is there a way to change your currency to USD on overstock? That's pretty shitty
They mention below the price that "Above price includes an International Service Fee." So that's probably not something I can get around.

If you don't want to hear yourself because of noise cancellation then I'd stick with open headphones or at least semi open headphones. They allow air to flow freely into the headphones which allows for a more natural sound.
