External Drive shows up as "Local Disk" and cannot be explored.

Title pretty much sums it up. My 1.5TB hard drive, for whatever reason, decided to stop being readable or openable. It basically shows up as "Local Disk" and then doesn't display the memory. Every time I try to open it, it crashes explorer. I've tried pretty much everything, anyone have a solution?
