Ok, I have this one computer, but it had Windows XP before it bork. It would just do a chkdsk or something then would just restart, then repeat. I tried everything for about 6 TERRIBLE MONTHS and I just formatted with Boot & Nuke.
What I am asking here is it legal for me to download XP from a torrent, and retrieve my Auth Code to make my windows ''Genuine'' that I still have (its on the case) and install it on the system?
Don't give me the option to install linux, I like my windows too.

besides I could have just looked up ''Windows XP Key'' or something similar and it would be illegal. I am asking if it is legal for me to download Windows XP from a torrent website and use my valid key on my case.

Ok, I found out that I can (Few google searches got me the answer) and I need a Torrent Link for Regular Windows XP - No extension like Pro or Media Center. If someone has enough time to look for one PM me the link if you find it.

Although, if XP came preinstalled on the computer, there's a likelihood that the key you have ONLY works with one specific version of XP. The best you can do is to try.
When you buy windows, you never buy the cd. Actually, you never buy windows. You only aquire the license.
