I won't be surprised if Battlefront II will feature mainly the new trilogy while Battlefront III: Back to the Past will focus mostly on the Prequels.
That's awful.
As long as they are decent improvements over the last, I don't see anything wrong with having sequels.
I hope the next Battlefront game has space battles.
As long as it doesn't go the Call of Duty way, it'll be fine. Maybe.

Call of Duty is actually several studios rotating release, I don't think anyone else can do that and still make money.
I can see EA delegating more RPG stuff to BioWare, maybe this time about the new trilogy.
Come on! Daddy needs a new Galactic Battlegrounds game!

Do you honestly think a company like EA would bother investing in RTS after how much trouble the previous C&C's have given them?

True. But to be honest C&C has been milked dry. Galactic Battlegrounds on the other had, still has a lot of milking ahead of it in my opinion.
Sure, don't know why this is news but whatever. Hopefully they figure out how to put content in the base game of a Battlefront game with the sequel.
Star Wars Battlefront I, while still great on it's own, wasn't always the best either. Battlefront II made whatever problems the first one had go away and added many new features to up the playability.

Forgot to add that if DICE's Battlefront is anything, it'll probably go the same direction as the original Battlefront: Great game, some features missing. Sequel comes out, lots of improvement and new features. Cheers and 10/10's all around.
I'm really skeptical with the Battlefront franchise. Either with each sequel they'll add more content (so a game worth a buy on release will be BF3) or they'll just keep changing the look/assets with limited amount of content (which will kill the game for more "hardcore" players).
I would like to see what other Star Wars games they'll come up with because those won't probably be made by DICE.
Star Wars supreme commander like RTS when?

Yeah, but in 2004 it felt like a more complete game. I feel like the bar is a lot higher now and people expect more for their $60.

If Empire at war couldn't rake in enough money there's no chance anything similar to GB by EA could. RTS just isn't mainstream enough for them.

Sucks that it didn't rake in a lot of money. I though that it was the best RTS I've ever played outside of Total War. Would love an expansion to Forces of Corruption.
I'd be satisfied with a few games worth of quality star wars assets to play around with. If you happen to make any of those games fun, then all credit to you.

The RTS genre as a whole has died
MOBAs are the next generation of RTS
why?
can't EA just not ruin one of my life-favorite franchises?

dont mean to alarm you but your life favorite franchise is only as popular as it is because of insane marketing and over saturation to begin with
I wouldn't mind another Force Unleashed styled game.
A non-shit Imperial Commando would be ayy

Of course, a genre with the most popular modding community is dead.
is the new battlefront worth 60$ because from what i have heard it gets really repetitive really fast?
