I'm planning on upgrading my cpu fan and ram.
What I have now is - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231459 -
But my motherboard says 4×240pin DDR3 2000(O.C.)/1800(O.C.)/1600(O.C.)/1333/1066 (Does that mean I need to Overclock for that 1600? My friend told me it automaticly corrects itself to 1600 if you need to oc it)
ram I'm considering to get is. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231486 or http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820103036
Im using a out of the box cpu fan for http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131644 AM3 Motherboard. Anyone know of any good but not GIANT cpu fans?
You have to set it to 1600mhz in BIOS manually if you want the extra 'speed'.
Also, why are you 'upgrading'? Do you really need the extra 8gb? (Video editing)
Also, if you want something that's not 'huge' atleast height wise you could get a Noctua NH-L12
When the motherboard spec has (O.C.) after a memory spec, it means that you have to overclock your motherboards' memory bus to support that speed. It's not guaranteed to work properly and is going to reduce the life of your CPU, especially if you have to use non-standard DDR3 voltage (higher than 1.575v).
