• Imgur malware?

It seems that about every 3 or so days, when browsing an image hosted on imgur, (not the direct image, images within imgur, the black border with the ads) it seems firefox freezes up for a few seconds and java starts to run. And unless I immediately exit, fake anti-viruses begin to pop-up. I immediately shut down firefox and have to run full virus scans. This is so fucking annoying and worrying. I run adblock but not on imgur, or else the images won't show up. Has anybody else been getting this? It's really confusing and I've tried googling and searching different forums but it seems to be just me. I'm afraid to use imgur.
For a start, do you have antivirus software installed (i.e MSE), and is your Java / Firefox patched right up? It's quite probably a rogue ad being loaded.
I have MSE and Malwarebytes running (I bought the pro version of MB). I have both updated Java, and I'm using Firefox 3.8.something.
I'm using Firefox 3.8.something.
Are you 100% sure about this? The latest version is 8.0.1. If you're still on Firefox 3, that's probably a starting block.
Yes, I am, I just don't like the look of the new versions. Still waiting for Firefox 2 look for Firefox 4+ to come out. Yeah its stupid, having it outdated, but is there a real possibility that's what is happening?
It's highly probable, yeah.
Update yo shit nigga.
rollin wit the old school shit ain't the shit no mo sucka
You should probably upgrade.. There are some backdoors and exploits that have been fixed. Your anti may of detected someone trying to exploit your browser and infect your computer.
Seriously man, update to the latest version If you don't like how all the menu bars have been moved into that one tab, you can turn that back on by clicking the firefox button > Options > tick Menu bar The changed buttons and shit you'll get used to within a week, that's how it worked for me
