Double the price of a GTX 1080 for a 20% performance boost! Can't wait for the 1080 TI to be 20% better than the Titan & 60% cheaper!
Trickle-fed profit maximizing bullshit.
oh look another GPU for idiots with too much money to buy and flaunt their wealth only to complain when the next generation card blows it out of the water for 40% of the price

nobody buys a fucking gpu to flaunt their wealth what the fuck, you never see the damn thing most of the time anyways
there's not much wealth in "oh yeah this cost $900 more than usual"
you'd buy an expensive car or wristwatch or some crap if you wanted to flaunt your wealth lol

Are you high, there's an entire enthusiast market out there with benchmarkers, youtubers and rich computer nerds who would love to flaunt off that they have the new Titan X in SLI.

But nobody can see it anyway.
And please, its not like you couldn't save for it either.
I mean, its not an expensive car, which you can actually show other people and that actually does say how much wealth you have because you can buy and maintain it.

This GPU costs the same as a high end PC in Europe with taxes. Why would you spend that much money on it when you can wait until Q1 next year when they release the 1080 Ti and every Titan prior has been destroyed by the Ti version.

What about content creators who want/ need a rendering powerhouse that works out of their home?
Not that I'm expressing any interest in this card. I most certainly am not. I'm saying power isn't just a gaming thing.

i think that's more general dick-measuring than flaunting their wealth
4 grand in GPU's honestly isnt all that much

you can say that about every GPU generation, can't you?
that still doesn't change the fact that most people outside the internet won't ever see your shit, and that 1k USD or so isn't all that much when it comes down to flaunting your wealth
when i say wealth, I mean the people who actually earn a shitton, not people who make a modest income and then eat ramen for a few months to recoup the costs
an expensive GPU is by all means, no measure of wealth or status outside of that enthusiast market

if you need or want a rendering powerhouse you'd actually buy a rendering card

"Why would people with money buy stuff"
ITT: People salty that they can't buy afford this, but given the money they'd buy 2 (including myself).

Depending on what exactly you need to do a Titan or similar is far more cost effective though.
When will Nvidia cut the expensive/bullshit pricetag of their cards
ITT: People salty that they can't buy afford this, but given the money they'd buy 2 (including myself).
nah.
ITT: People salty that they can't buy afford this, but given the money they'd buy 2 (including myself).
Regardless of whether people can afford it new or not it would still be an awful decision given the price/spec ratio and how fast the value will depreciate

When AMD can actually compete and not an instant before.
