Something that a lot of sites/services should stop doing is the whole "Security question" bullshit. It's most often a much weaker link than the passwords.

Doesn't matter that it was porn in this case, the concern is directed at sensitive information leaking in general.
And if I understood the article correctly at least part of the fault was Apple not deleting temporary files properly, so there's a start for an actual solution that still allows people to take nude pictures.
The fact that your data leaves the local device and propagates into unknown storage spaces has always been a concern with cloud services, we were warned about this years ago. It's gonna take a few more incidents like this to make people realize the drawbacks of cloud services.

Based on new information a lot of these leaks were not acquired recently and have been traded around for other pictures/videos of celebrities this has been happening for a few years, last night a major dump of a lot of these pictures occurred last night on 4chan.
It also seems like in the last few days a mass amount of new icloud accounts of celebrities were hacked, this was due to a flaw in the find my iphone app that allowed attackers to bruteforce icloud accounts without and timeout period on attempts.
