• 4U server for colocating, $600-1000

I'm looking to colocate a server in about a week or so, so can somebody help me build a server for hosting source mods (GMod, CS:S, etc) as well as having some file storage here and there? My budget is about $600-1000, with less being more preferable. The unit has to be 4U or less.
I think it would be better to go with your own case, rather than a bare bones rack server. You'd have more flexibility and control over cost. Here's a pretty good 4u rack case on Newegg: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811182566 As for a processor, you want something that has beefy cores over beefy SMP performance (since srcds is still heavily reliant on one thread.) I'd recommend an Xeon E3-1270v2, or you could go with the v3 if you wanted to go with a Haswell chip. But just a week for building a rack server? You'd be lucky to get the parts in 3 days, unless you spent a ridiculous amount of money on overnight shipping. It'd take you an additional few days to set your rig up the way you want, assuming you didn't run into problems like defective hardware.
I put together a rough list. And I meant about 7-12 days with lots of time invested. I get 2 day shipping from a shoprunner account that a couple of my friends use. http://secure.newegg.com/WishList/PublicWishDetail.aspx?WishListNumber=30987728
