Really don't know much in the ways of this. Suggestions please? I know I want: 4GB Ram 1TB Harddrive Windows 7 OEM SLI or Crossfire supporting motherboards.
So is there anything you can reuse: monitors, keyboards, mice, speakers, CD/DVD drives, etc?
Woops, sorry on that. I made the thread twice but the first time Slowpunch didn't post it so I forgot to say. I have a monitor, keyboard, mouse, and speakers. I also have a 5 years old computer with a DVD drive, would that still work?
Is the DVD drive IDE or SATA?
Looks like IDE, so I'm gonna guess that means I need a new one.

Wow, thanks. That's awesome.
Also, what's your resolution?
1440 * 900 for now.
So, does anybody else have any input?
go with acid's build I don't think it'll get any better than that here but use EMCYTZT521 to take off $15 off the OS
You might want to invest in a better keyboard and mouse. Mechanical keyboards are a particular favorite of mine. They often feel better and are easier to type on. Avoid anything wireless, they are never worth it imo. keyboard thread:http://www.facepunch.com/threads/1054092-Mechanical-Keyboard-Megathread I can vouch for this as a good wired mouse, although i prefer the finish of the performance MX below it. good: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16826104178 best: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16826104321 (it's wireless but I keep the power cord attached at all times)
I'm happy enough with my keyboard and mouse for the time being. [editline]6th June 2011[/editline] But thanks guys, very much appreciated.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboBundleDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.657737 Anything wrong with this? Opens up enough money to get a 6970.
Bad case, bad psu, you can get a better HDD, vengeance is overpriced and you probably don't need 8gb of ram
Mmk. I guess I'll just stick with the 560 Ti then.
Are you going to get a higher resolution monitor soon?
Not likely. Perhaps around Christmas.
You can stick with the 560 ti, but if you get a 1920x1080 monitor in the future a 6950 1GB will outperform it, but it's your choice. Acid's build is good, but you should get the HAF 912 + GX750 combo instead for better temps, longer efficiency ect. There's also an MSi 560 ti, better cooler than the EVGA but you don't get a lifetime warranty (or 10 year extended, whatever they have on their cards now)
Just so I'm more informed, whats so bad about that case and PSU?
Rosewill psu's aren't great. I wouldn't say the case is worth $80 considering the HAF 912 is $60..
750W PSU will bring up the price a bit, so hm.
