Please let me know ASAP if there's any better deals in terms of SDD, MOBO, Monitor, and PSU. Keep in mind that I'll be using the SDD as my boot drive and storage drive temporarily, until I make some more money for an HDD. If you're able to lower the total price and increase the performance at the same time, that'll be greatly appreciated. I'll be buying around/after Thanksgiving Holidays.. if Newegg doesn't seem like giving discounts on any of these items I'll just buy them next week and fill out the MIRs and save 100. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139021 cheaper, will actually output near 750w on 12v http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125401 much cheaper and will perform similarly, the 6950 you chose was closer to 570 prices http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231424 cheaper, no noticeable difference if you're getting a blackwidow then don't bother with the ultimate, a few LEDs and USB ports aren't worth anywhere near the price difference, but at this point there's likely better mechanical boards for a similar price
Im going with 6950 twin frozr for near extreme OC and most likely flashing too. and I forgot to mention, I need a PSU that can handel CFX 2x 6950 in the future. The PSU that I have on the list is actually cheaper, if you take into account that I'll be using the MIR for an extra $20 off.
the TX750V2 is still a better PSU, is actually 750W and from everything I've heard rebates are not guaranteed and AMD took measures to stop you unlocking 6950s to 6970s a long time ago, it worked before because it was only locked at a software level, now new models are locked at hardware unless AMD changed their mind it's not worth a gamble especially this late if you're paying that much either put in $40 more for a 570 or drop to a 560ti and save money, which is what you were asking for a better cooler and possibly better binned chip is not worth $80
Then, which 570 would be better: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Productcompare.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=40000048%20600094002%20600031507&IsNodeId=1&Description=570&bop=And&CompareItemList=48%7C14-130-622%5E14-130-622-TS%2C14-130-620%5E14-130-620-TS%2C14-121-432%5E14-121-432-TS%2C14-130-692%5E14-130-692-TS
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130593 or http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125384 the gigabyte card has a better cooler but exhausts heat into the case the EVGA card externally exhausts heat and a better warranty
lol the cooler in the gigabyte is redundant then.. whats the point of a cooler when the heat is exhausted into the case? I guess I'll go with the evga, but why the ref speeds?
lol the cooler in the gigabyte is redundant then.. whats the point of a cooler when the heat is exhausted into the case? Cases like the Antec 900 would work well with it.
Well, I'm gonna get the HAF 922, so assuming I'll get the gigabyte one, how many fans ( and link it? ) would I need to have decent airflow? Whether I get the 6950 or 570, I plan to OC it, so please keep that in mind.
The HAF 922 has pretty decent airflow with the included fans.
Kay, I've decided to go with the Gigabyte GTX 570 Super OC Edition. Any last minute suggestions? Gonna order on Weds.
bump anyone? Edit: Btw, is 750W enough for future SLI with the Gigabyte GTX 570 SOC ?
