This morning, I was casually browsing FP when my brother asked if he could send me his Killing Floor map to me over MSN. So I started it up, got everything loaded and then it stopped responding. I figured it would just fix itself like normal so I moved back to browsing. 20 minutes later and it was still there, still not responding. So I opened the task manager and ended it. Ever since then, none of my programs (Other than firefox) will turn on at all, they won't even cause the cursor to go into loading form.
Is there a specific reason for this? Not even task manager will open anymore...
EDIT: I have restarted multiple times.
He sent you a virus.
Run a virus scan.

I never actually got into a chat, MSN crashed on startup.
That's fucking weird...
Run a virus scan anyways. (If you can fire up your anti-virus program, that is.)

Sorry, I misread. But it still sounds like a virus, with the programs refusing to start, and you can't open task manager.

My virus scanner is in the taskbar, it runs on startup. I'll do a scan and report back with the results.
EDIT: Done, I had 2 viruses that appear on EVERY SCAN. I get them every time I visit Facepunch.

EDIT: 2 so far but they're always there. Just a cookie and something I get every time I go on facepunch.
I don't get any malicious cookies from facepunch, its possible the virus has broke your AV.
If the programs are refusing to start, hold them at gunpoint and they will be left with no other choice.
Doing another scan. The same 2 things appear EVERY TIME.
It's an endless cycle, scan, delete 2 viruses, scan. delete virus' again. scan etc.
What viruses are they?
There is...
Trojan.DNSChanger
and
Tracking Cookie
They appear no matter when I've done the scan. They were there even when I first got the computer.
Trojan.DNSChanger sounds like your problem.
And did you get it second-hand?
Well...I ran safe mode, did the exact same scan, deleted the exact same viruses and restarted...it works again...
And yes, those same viruses show up in the scan. So I guess this is a mystery...
What anti-virus are you using?
IOBit Security 360.
IOBit Security 360.
I looked it up, and people say it's like AVG, is that true?
I have never used it, so I couldn't tell you if its configured wrong.
I don't know if that software can do this, but make it block those files? I think AVG can do that too?
