So theres a switch on my psu that says something like 250v, and I switched it to 115V (lol why not?). And there was a loud bang and a flash of light and a burning smell, and obviously the pc wouldn't turn on. Would anyone know off the bat exactly what I've fucked up? Because if it's just the PSU then that's fine, if I've damaged other stuff then shit! And also would anyone know how I can determine if anything other than the psu was damaged.
That switch tells the psu what voltage to expect from the mains and you just made it expect half as much. I would be surprised if your entire pc isn't fried
Well, it wasn't switched on, would that make a difference?
Possibly, the best thing to do is just get another psu and try it out

If the PC wasn't turned on i think it is just the PSU that blew, otherwise you might be looking at a somewhat higher pricetag.
I've done this before. It's just the PSU.
I did this with a computer at school, just the other way around, good thing nobody saw me do it.. :v:
You've spiked your motherboard.
