Deleting things off externals can be a pain sometimes. Turn on the ability to view hidden files and see if you can find a trash or recycle bin on your hard drive. On my Lacie it's called RECYCLER. Open this up and delete anything inside...
Transferring a file that large from a NTFS drive to a FAT32 external is the likely cause.

What the fuck where did my posts go? I had over 1,000
Garry made some changes, he removed some sub-forums, when he did that it also deleted any posts you may have made in there.
