Ha! please, do you have any kind of idea how much Monster Energy I could buy with that amount of money? I could satisfy my addiction for AT LEAST ... a month....
Tried the glass recently at a campus event. I would have to strongly debate spending $150 on this, much less 1500 :/

What, you think that's gonna stop people from buying it anyway?
People are buying the Oculus Rift already despite the "Development Kit" label on it.

uh yes, that's why it's $1500. People might buy it anyway but who cares? The price is high to discourage exactly that.
"Users must be 18 years old" what
Considering my pc with peripherals costed exactly as much (albeit 1625$) that's actually really cheap.

Oculus Rift doesn't cost 1500 bucks to be honest. Big difference.

I imagine you have to sign a legal contract so nobody immediately flogs them on ebay
It will sell out almost immediately and a bunch will pop up on ebay and Craigslist by the end of the week.
It doesn't matter if people sign a contract. They'll try to get away with it anyways.
$1,500 USD ? :v: yeah right, I can get a new a phone and another Titan for that. And it costs what, $100 USD to make?

It's starting to show some usefulness each passing day. The cellphones comparison isn't too far off in my opinion.
