What is the full extend of Steam's new facebook linking feature

I just linked my Steam account with my facebook, thing is I'm noticing absolutely Nothing new. Is there a way to get it so the Facebook messenger can be merged with steam? What can you really do with this link?

Any other friends on facebook/steam that also have a steam/facebook account linked then it will detect them. Like when facebook asks you to add friends by looking around in your email contacts.

That's all? Well that's a load, I was hoping Someone from facebook could message me through steam. I have facebook friends who I don't ever talk to because I NEVER sign onto facebook.
