So, I have this computer, and I want a new card. Because my current one is an 9800GT and It's not really working out between that and new games.
My budget 1700KR. Roughly 300 dollars.
My specs:

It needs to be PCI-E and better than the 9800GT (which I suppose woulden't be too hard)
GTX 470. Possibly a GTX 480 for a used one.
Get a new motherboard and RAM, for ~ 150 and a 460?
[editline]24th December 2010[/editline]
Motherboard RAM and CPU* - is there a site we can look at where you shop?
A 9800GT should still run games fine, it is the 2GB of RAM that is letting you down. Bump your 2GB to 4GB, try the games.
Here in Sweden stuff are much more expensive :v:
He's not going to get all that for 1700kr... Maybe only a 460 would cost that...
A good site is http://www.inet.se
edit: Oh shit, didn't think of that he could be Danish or something...

This could help a bit. OP, you should buy some oh fuck that site is in swedish so I don't know what to link you to
Buy a 2x2GB set of DDR3 RAM, a new motherboard and processor. The 9800GT should be fine unless you're trying to play Metro 2033 on High.

Ive got a GTS 250 and it runs games perfectly fine.
The GTS 250 isn't a noticeable jump from a 9800GT.
[editline]24th December 2010[/editline]
It's exactly like a 9800GTX+
You have bigger things to worry about than the videocard.
Get some more ram and a new cpu, then look at a GTX 460.

Thats the point Im trying to make.
OP doesn't need a new card.
Maybe a GTX 460/480
Newer games need a dual core or better running in the 3ghz speed range. So your 2.4ghz is going to limit you to an extent.
Also, for 1080P gaming with newer games you're going to need a 460(or equivalent AMD) at least.

My i5 at 2.4ghz will blow that core 2 duo out of the water, so it's really the processor itself, not the clock speed.
[editline]24th December 2010[/editline]
But yeah that processor isn't that great, might want to upgrade.
By the way, I'm overclocking my E4600 sometime next week. Apparently they're not hard to get past 3ghz with a decent cooler.
Would this work (I'm 09'er btw)

Halp?
I suggest you wait till you've got ~5000KR, and then upgrade mobo/RAM/CPU/GPU. If you just buy one thing for ~1700KR right now, you're going to get a bottleneck.

I can't wait for so long, my birthday is in 6 months, I don't have a job.

Well, I suppose yoou could buy a GPU and then upgrade the rest later on.. I really recommend you wait those six months. It's doable.
Right now I just think of upgrading my RAM. As a start. Can you guys maybe find something good on this website. It's in danish but Google translate does a p. good job.

Are you danish?

CPU: http://www.edbpriser.dk/Product/Details.aspx?q=phenom+II+x4&sp=all&pid=711623
RAM: http://www.edbpriser.dk/Product/Details.aspx?q=Corsair+XMS3&sp=all&pid=801141
You should check what kind of power supply you have, and if it's no-name one, get this and drop the RAM: http://www.edbpriser.dk/Product/Details.aspx?q=OCZ+modxstream&sp=all&pid=779805
Keep your current GPU, and the old RAM will work in the new mobo.
I know it may seem odd to request everything else than a new GPU, but this is in my opinion more urgent.

I am danish, yes.
[editline]25th December 2010[/editline]
Also, I don't have much experience with replacement of a motherboard, I know how to replace GPU RAM etc.
Which danish shops can I thrust Dong?

Fair enough. I just feel that this is more urgent.

Which danish stores can I trust?
Well, as far as I know EDBpriser checks the stores before they get to be put on the site, so they should all be good. I've never had any problems with anything on EDBpriser.

Ok, I feel like buying the RAM first. Will it fit my computer? Specs in OP, since, I am 09'er...

Don't buy the RAM first, as it will NOT work in your current motherboard. Your old RAM will work in the new one, though. As I said in one of my earlier post: Check your power supply.
Simply open up your case and chack brand and model.
Sure, will do!
