Well, took long enough, though it still seems to fit somewhat with the main aesthetic even if the bow looks a bit "glossy".

You're right, it does look better that way.
I wish i can censor all this dota 2 bullshit, hate moba games in general and I wish I can no longer hear a single word of any moba platform.

I wasn't a fan of MOBAs at all and couldn't careless about them until just a couple months ago when my boyfriend got me in to DOTA 2 and now I'm quite enjoying it.
Tie in items are dumb.
Tie in items are dumb.
TF2 is also getting the compound bow, from what I've been hearing. Speaking of which, TF2 has gotten a lot of promo items from many different games on steam.
Still better than the catgirl item set.
I guess that means it's only a matter of time before DotA is plagued with hats and a ridiculous trading economy if it's "taking lessons from Team Fortress 2". Hope you guys enjoy your game while it lasts.

The worst that could happen is those cosmetic items looking dumber and dumber, and so far valve has done a good job keeping the silliest stuff at bay (a set for Ursa was released where he had a tiny cowboy hat and big cowboy gloves and it looked silly as fuck, and it was removed from the store and from the drop lists pretty much instantly), and the only worry one can have is if a really stupid item somehow gets really popular on the workshop like the drow cat items, in which case valve will be forced to add it (and then no one will ever buy it and it'll be forgotten so whatever). It's not like the shop can be for anything than cosmetics anyway, TF2 suffers from the whole hat thing because there hasn't been a single weapon released for, what, more than a year now ?
That hood and cloak fits drow pretty nicely.
Come on guys! Atleast this one fits nicely, just look at what made into the game some time ago: So bad it had to be removed.
Because fuck wearing pants right?
I don't think this is the first promo item. There was a courier awhile back that was a promo as well I think.
You know the game was built around it? 'Only a matter of time', its been like that since its inception. And its no bad thing.
Its a pretty horrible thing to the art and aesthetic to Dota 2 actually. Just wait, its already been slowly getting fucking worse and worse with item quality being WAY worse than a lot of the earlier shit.
I don't think this is the first promo item. There's a pretty big portion of the dota 2 shop that's essentially entirely merchandising. At each International there's the compendium which gives you items when you buy it and watch matches, you can support teams by buying their sponsored items, etc. [editline]21st February 2014[/editline]
Its a pretty horrible thing to the art and aesthetic to Dota 2 actually. Because the content is now almost exclusively usermade, with players creating, submitting and voting for content, the amount of stupid shit that goes by is cut by a whole lot because people (usually) vote for what looks the best OR for stuff that's being promoted by pro teams, which are too smart to release shitty content considering their reputation is at hand.
If you don't like the cosmetic, just uninstall dota 2
The cosmetics might not be as bad in DOTA since, unlike TF2, there are a large and varied amount of characters meaning its less likely to have something unfitting crammed on and could actually be refined for a character.

They've only been jumbled together to make a profit for both parties in items that normally wouldn't make the quality cut (i.e add -big name- to the contributors list and get guaranteed 1500-2000 votes from their advertisements).

At release of the item shop and cosmetics the community was smaller and were more strict on what got in making sure it fit the theme. Then as more and more got Dota 2, the quality started getting lowered to what was voted in on and what wasnt. And it isnt all the community, Valve picks the items at the end. At least the bloom festival items were high quality, but I would say between August-->December a lot of stupid shit or just down right low quality items were getting in.

You can buy it off the grey market for only $1200!!11. It also dropped in price recently from what I can tell, the hat alone used to be worth almost $500 at one point.
That’ll continue in the coming week with new Thief-themed gear for the scout: a complicated-looking bow and matching hoodie.
Come on PCGamesN, the Scout doesn't even use a bow and the screenshots linked show the Sniper :sa-v:
