at least they'll...
At least they’ll be able to reuse all of this English voice actors from Unity.
Oh well there you go.
I can't wait until Far Cry is shat into a yearly franchise as well.
Why do people keep buying AC games? They're just so bland and reptitive
why
Victorian London? They're actually making an AC game in a setting everyone was asking for?
Finally.

I'm not a huge fan of the AC series. The only one I've really played was black flag or whatever it was called. But this one looks pretty cool, I'm really digging the setting.
I still enjoy Assassin's Creed because I really love history and "reenactments" (?). The series always teaches me tons of things, and the artwork is always great.
Kotaku really enjoys leaking Assassin's Creed announcements. They've done it for the third year in a row now.
I just still love running around jumping all over shit on rooftops etc

"leaking"
"leaking"
"Breaking the story" is a better term I guess? They've been the first to report this stuff from whatever anonymous source/tipster they have.
I really loved the AC series (especially the Ezio ones) but now I'm playing Black Flag and I hate what they did to the story outside of the Animus.
Also the game runs like shit. I'm above the recommended hardware requirements and have to play with almost every setting on low/off. Even then I get only 20 to 30 FPS.

How many games do you know that take place in historical periods that aren't WWII that AREN'T FPS's or Strategy games?
Not many, and for that I love the AC series. Giving me the ability to run around old cities and seeing some historical events. so basically what RichyZ said, because I like them.
Ubisoft just confirmed the leak:
http://www.ign.com/articles/2014/12/02/assassins-creed-victory-has-been-leaked
"It is always unfortunate when internal assets, not intended for public consumption, are leaked. And, while we certainly welcome anticipation for all of our upcoming titles, we're disappointed for our fans, and our development team, that this conceptual asset is now public. The team in our Quebec studio has been hard at work on the particular game in question for the past few years, and we're excited to officially unveil what the studio has been working on at a later date. In the meantime, our number one priority is enhancing the experience of Assassin's Creed Unity for players."

honestly I liked the modern day stuff in AC4 because at least they tried something different.
and in Unity it's even better, it's barely there!
Make a 1920's one where you are an Irish immigrant steel worker in New York who can climb all the highrises and I'll buy it.
But, does this mean the end of haystacks?
But, does this mean the end of haystacks?
Haystacks will be replaced with mounds of horse shit mixed in with old linens caked in soot.

Let me climb and sync from the Brooklyn Bridge, or bust.
Sweeney Todd will make an appearance.
But, does this mean the end of haystacks?
They could somehow set it in the future and they would still be haystacks.
Hey you know, I mean, I'm totally okay with this. As long as it's not shit like Unity and actually improves upon the AC formula, it could be awesome.
But, they won't do that. It'll be as bad as Unity in at least a few dozen ways, and they'll make a dickload of money off it.
I wont lie though, that screenshot in the article looks fucking awesome imo
Ass creed is getting boring/turning to shit because it's becoming/has been the exact fucking same game since 2. With black flag they branched out and tried something new with big ass exploration and it paid off, everyone I've talked to about it says they loved 4 and some even say it was their favorite of the series, then with Unity they went back to shitting out shit loaded with bugs and went back to boring shitty cities.
It's like Ubisoft intentionally makes terrible decisions with games at this point.

the only reasons why I haven't bought Unity is the bugs, the performance issues and the high price
otherwise I'd probably be a sucker for the game.
I guess I just like the art, history immersion, being a stabby stabby badass assassinating parkour motherfucker.
The Animus stuff with Desmond Miles etc. I don't care for at all though, never have since it ruins my immersion completely.
That's not to say I don't find the games repetitive and bland a lot of times, but they usually do have quite a few good parts and I tend to overlook the bad ones for the sake of my enjoyment.
(a sort of willful suspension of disbelief I guess)
Also the Trailers give me a lot of Hype, especially the heavily Cinematic ones.
I love this setting, too bad it's being used in an asscreed game
oh well
But, does this mean the end of haystacks?
Dumpsters full of trash could be used as a modern equivalent. It's enough of an action movie cliché that it could be plausible.

I found it really fun to be Desmond, tbh - especially in the earlier games. Like the bit where you [sp]finally get to fight some templar dudes with a retractable baton[/sp]; I was gleeing with excitement while busting them up.
I hope there's a disguise system in this, because by now, after playing characters from different eras over the last 800-900 years or so, you'd think that people would start catching on to the assassin's outfits/symbols. I mean, come on, who wouldn't be weirded out by the appearance of one of "those guys" in the assassin's outfits with that specific hood they wear and the symbol branded onto their clothing? I wanna walk around disguised as a regular person knowing that I'm actually disguised, instead of having to look for a haystack to jump into, or sitting on a bench next to people who won't get even slightly suspicious about my outlandish getup.
I know this game is just one massive, fictitious playground set in past locations and eras, but I'd like at least part of it to make a little sense. Also, with each installation becoming more recent than the last, they'll eventually have to ditch carrying around swords and having all of their weapons exposed to passers by. Especially when police officers or similar people start carrying around automatic weapons.
Spoiler alert:
it will suck
That's good saying a game will suck before any gameplay or trailers have come out that's great keep it up.
