• AMD Radeon 7850; Good buy or not?

So, I know I have been posting a LOT on the Technical Support & PC Building forums, as well as I'm looking to upgrade my computer as I get money, so, As I describe in the title, I want to know if the AMD Radeon 7850 is a good graphics card that's futureproof for at least a year or two, as well as it can run the games that I oftenly play properly, like Metro 2033, PAYDAY: The Heist, Metro: Last Light (Not been released but I'm willing to get it when it's out at 17 May) and any other games which are fairly new. And for any overclocking maniac that's around here; I will NOT overclock it, to do so you just cook your GPU.... GPU I have been looking at: http://www.asus.com/Graphics_Cards/HD7850DC22GD5V2/#specifications Thanks for any help that will be given! Specifications of my computer PSU: Cooler Master GX 600 lite (600w) Motherboard: ASRock M3A770DE, AMD 770 (I believe, chipset) RAM: 6 GB of DDR3 CPU: AMD Phenom II X6 1055T Current GPU: ASUS Radeon 6670 HDD: Seagate Barracuda 1 TB (Doesn't really have anything to do with my current need) Current monitor resolution: 1440x900 pixels. Maximum money I'm willing to spend: 200 euros or so
You don't cook a card if you overclock it properly, but as your not trying to spin that to anyone I won't mention it again. What resolution do you play at, and what is your budget? The 7850 is a decent card price/performance wise at 1080p, however I know for a fact Metro 2033 won't be playable on max settings on a 7850.
All you have to do is follow a good guide for you to over clock your card and dedicate some time making sure it's stable anyway, you don't actually have to be some computer know-it-all to do so. But anyway yeah the 7850 is a decent card but as above: Budget? Resolution? PSU wattage?
define future proofing my $300 7950 can not max out crysis 3
Having cash is future proofing

[editline]28th March 2013[/editline] Right then, what about this baby? http://www.asus.com/Graphics_Cards/HD7870DC22GD5V2/#specifications

If you can stretch your budget slightly above 200€, go for the 7870XT, it's using the same chip as the 7950 except with some functional units disabled and less memory bandwidth, but it's clocked higher so it almost as good as the 7950. Although at your current resolution the 7850 should be able to max out almost anything.
