More specifically, what's at the centre of the milky way galaxy?

I know there are millions of other galaxies in the universe but just what is in the middle holding our own together? How does it work? Might seem like a stupid question but I was just thinking about it.
I think it's a large collection of black holes and supernovae.
Astronomy!!!!!! A star!

Omega 4 Mass relay exit :smug:
Well, if you mean what's keeping our UNIVERSE together, I'm not sure.
But if you mean our GALAXY, the center of our galaxy is a big mass of star clusters, nebulae, etc. Imagine it as a big bowling ball in the middle of a trampoline, with more smaller balls around it. Everything is going to go towards the middle of the trampoline. And the middle of the Milky Way is white because the stars are colliding and becoming SUPER hot.
The ancient Greeks actually believed it was a drop of milk from Athena's titties

Actually, the most plausible "Central bowling ball" is a supermassive black hole.
When it comes to spacetime, clusters of stars isn't as heavy as black holes.

isn't it thought that the universe is expanding indefinitely? if so how is it that the galaxies are shrinking (because you said stars are sucked in and colliding in the centre so eventually they will become nothingness?)
it has been proven that its a SuperMassive blackHole by calculating the speed of the surrounding stars at the center

As I said.

Supermassive black hole.
