6v6 tactical Pokemon battles, eh? Sounds like a step-up from the old 2v2 of the current generation, which in turn was step up from the 1v1 of the classic games I used to know.
Also, how does the ability system of Pokemon work nowadays? When I used to play, each ability had a set number of Power Points which could be replenished by using Ether for individual moves and Elixir for every move. Is it still like that or has it changed in any way?

the basic mechanics are still the same, it hasn't changed much.
This isn't what all pokemon games are going to turn into, this is just a cross over game.
Surprised to know that they're actually releasing this outside of Japan.

It's a crossover that plays a bit like Fire Emblem but with Pokemon, if that makes sense

I REALLY liked Final Fantasy Tactic's battle system, so I'm probably going to pick this up.
It seems fun.
