The characters are a mixture of heroes from Broforce but with few changes that make them more useful than the ones in base game. There are actually more gameplay and other features in this than the base game. I hope they fix that soon and add all this new stuff.

Yeah, they said on their official forums that they're probably gonna add some of the new gameplay features to the base game in a later update.
