Okay so yeah I have a pretty crappy computer, and I'm looking for a new gaming computer.. the problem is I only have a $500 budget.. What I need is: -Tower -Keyboard -Mouse (preferabbly wired laser) I play Team Fortress 2, Call of Duty 4, and I could use a link to some building instructions. Thank you. the taxes and shipping are covered as well, $500 are just for the parts. OS IS required.
I'm building one right now. What games you plan on running? Please be specific. Also, is OS covered and does the $500 include Shipping/Taxes? [editline]12:42AM[/editline] Here you go ( second time trying to pick parts for a computer, so I'm a noob still ) Without OS and input devices (mouse and keyboard you can just ask around for some generic one if you're not too picky). This might be spam, but can you guys help me with my problem? http://www.facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=890447

I think the second option is better than the first, but both of them allow for upgrades, jsut in case you decide to buy a new cpu.
These are my current Specs, is this a good upgrade?
That's a big upgrade [editline]04:55PM[/editline] Especially the graphics card
just buy a new video card. 9800gt or something. honestly, even an 8800gt off of ebay would work. and maybe some RAM to top it off at 4gb. and of course you'd have to go 64-bit, but windows 7 would be worth it. you mine as well go cheap now, and save up for a much better next-gen machine. your hardware isn't crap as it is, so why go build a cheap ass rig now? [editline]11:49AM[/editline] 9500gt - $69.99 9800gt - $134.99 Free shipping on both. Remember, the 9800gt has a higher power supply requirement. Read the reviews, these things will wail on TF2 and COD4.
Bradford you stole my build! His is better though OP, but I thought you guys advocated to stay away from Rosewill?

I just tweaked your build to fit in the keyboard and mouse. There power supplies are kinda iffy and only for uses in very very low wattage situations. [editline]02:06PM[/editline] Also mine has a faster hard drive:smug:
Yeah, this will be a big upgrade for you. What settings could you run TF2 and COD4 on?
Yeah, this will be a big upgrade for you. What settings could you run TF2 and COD4 on? You are a complete idiot.
Cod on mid settings. And tf2 on max cause it is easy to run.
Any of the games he plays are easily taken care of by a 95/9800gt. He probably should upgrade the case, memory, and maybe even the psu - but compared to buying a whole new system, it would be cheaper. I think you guys are going over-board, considering he hasn't mentioned any next-gen games.
Cod on mid settings. And tf2 on max cause it is easy to run.
up to 1680x1050 both should max fairly easily
up to 1680x1050 both should max fairly easily
I was saying what he was playing at. Yeah I misread that.
I'm pretty sure that the Regor 240 isn't a massive improvement over the E4500. I would either spend more for a faster CPU (perhaps a quad) for the whole new system, OR be cheap and just get a new PSU and GPU for your current system. Just my opinion.

The E4500 isn't horrible, considering that he's only playing COD4 and TF2. My Q6600 is only 200mhz higher stock, and with two extra cores. I'm sure the E4500 would suffice given he buys a newer graphics card and more memory.

You don't have a crappy PC. Get this and you should be set: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814131331
