The left speaker of my headphones isn't working, and when stuff is stereo it wavers in an out weirdly. Most notably in games, when something happens to the left I don't hear anything unless I turn my butt around to either face it or have it to my right.
I tried to reconfigure my audio device but the only option is 'stereo', there is no mono setting.
Is there any way I can change this?
Can't you turn the balance all the way to the right in your audio device properties?

than you've got a broken headset, mono sound wont help
I would recommend a new headset obviously. But a work around I've used in the past is if you pull the 3.5inch plug out of the sound card socket partially you can get mono sound in both ears.
just bridge the rings on the connector, be carefull to not bridge the ring on the tip
