• Coffee spilled on laptop, any hope for it?

Yesterday my uncle gave me his old laptop that he spilled coffee on causing it not to be able to turn on. When I press the power button nothing happens at all, no sounds, nothing. The only response is when I unplug the power cord the speakers crackle a bit. Is there a way I can fix it myself or is it a lost cause?
Coffee is like soda and eats away at traces. If the chipset has not been shorted out, your main issue will be a dead keyboard.
Figured as much. I guess its garbage, except for the hard drive I guess.
I hope you had dried it then let it sit then turn it on immediately. If not then you're laptop is dead. Liquids and electronics don't mix
I'm sure you learn that at an early age. I wasn't even stupid enough to put my gameboy in water
My uncle thought i could take it apart, fix and use it myself, or use it for parts. Ever since i built my computer he has been dumping old broken electronics on me thinking i can fix them or use it to make my computer better.
