"I'm embarrassed to hear that you dislike this...
...BYE"
They're just trying to keep it true to the real Deadly Premonition experience.
Anyone that was expecting a solid port is silly.
I just wish I could change the ready weapon button to right mouse button.
I want to know why they don't have controller support.
It boggles my mind.
They guy who made DSFix made a fix within an hour. That's how embarrassing it was, someone who works for one of the companies involved even went out of their way to contact him to see if they could integrate it into a patch, which means they're significantly better than Namco's handling of Dark Souls.

Durante is a fucking badass, apparently he has a PhD too. The fact that he can reverse engineer something so quickly and fix problems with a port in less than a day after release is amazing.

i have a crush on durante
He's also fixing some control issues (Menus freaking out when anything controller related is installed).
I just hope someone fixes the framerate sometime (looking at their twitter I doubt they'll touch the game again after it's release). Sub 25 frames both with and without the mod is unplayable. I can run everything else just fine though, even the worst of games like planetside 2.
I've noticed that the minimap you have while driving a car is completely useless.
Also cars tend to veer right a lot whenever you go faster than like 30 mph.
So, did Namco not give a shit when the PC version of Dark Souls came out? At least these guys are working to fix it.

Just did this after someone on the steam forums posted it and now it's silky as a motherfucker. Still got longass load times and hates being alt tabbed out. Any way to launch in windowed mode?

The latest DPfix 0.2 has borderless windowed mode, but that might not be what you are looking for.

Just tried it. Crashes my game sadly.
im excited to see what modders do, honestly. probably the main reason why i bought this game for the pc. id love to see higher quality texture packs in the future.
the steam forums are nuts. people are treating this like it's a war crime or some shit
pc elitists are the worst
It is unacceptable that a game doesn't have modifiable settings, but it's not that huge of a problem. At least it has controls that are sane.

No one should be surprised this isnt a solid port, I think it was more of the intention of just getting it on PC but at the same time, was never going to be on PC, just like Dark Souls.
People give too much shit for ports in rare cases like this, like what were you really expecting? They didnt hype this shit, they announced it like once just saying its gonna be on PC with some added content.
Now if a game came out on consoles and PC right around the same time WITH the intention of being on PC from the start and was awful then complaints are far more valid and the devs have no excuse.
But honestly, for a cult classic that chugged on the fucking consoles you seriously expected it to be something amazing on PC?
Aside from all that, Durante is the fucking shit, ill wait another month or two for a more solid fix and buy it then.

not really, because it's a single guy who doesn't have go to a higher-up to get approval and wait for validation from the platform their game is on and all that other bullshit, he can just upload a dll to a file sharing site and have it done in a second.

Yeah, those goddamn PC elitists.

If I buy a game I expect it to both work and work well. Doesn't matter if it's a "cult classic that chugged on consoles" or a brand new triple A pc release. It's entirely reasonable to complain about a game thats locked to 720p with no other graphical options that you just payed twenty bucks for.
Nobody expected something new. They expected a working product. If it wasn't for the mod I would probably be pursuing a refund in the next couple days.

You do realize games made by that producer in question always are weird/camp as fuck, right?
Did you even look at those pictures? Those are all legitimate problems with the PC port.
They were legitimate problems with the 360 and PS3 versions.
The 360 controls sucked ass and the PS3 version had massive slow downs.

I'm not sure how that changes the fact that the game shouldn't be broken like it is.
If you look at my post you'll see that I linked 10 different instances of the game having bad bugs/glitches.
For example the infinite mouse scrolling one breaks the game.
Luckily Durante released a patch that fixed that bug.
But that doesn't change the fact that game breaking bugs =/= minor lag.
Just got an update for the game, now it's doing the usual Steam per-requisite installation deal with DirectX and that kinda stuff where I never got that on my first startup.
For a straight port I'm kinda surprised my PC that's still kinda underpowered compared to the 360/PS3 runs at a near constant 60fps considering the slowdowns on it's console versions.
Although the load times are jarring, 6-10 secs to change between prerendered cutscenes is astonishing.
It's PC elitism to expect a non shit port now, or at least voice your opinion on the port's quality (the only thing that causes any sort of change to thinngs such as the move away from GFWL)
