heard the tournament was a shitshow from a friend, can anyone confirm or was it just this one guy?
If they knew he used an exploit then why not deny the prize or have it in the TOS for the tournament :?

Yeah it's a shit show with the majority of the participants actively abusing a glitch that makes their attacks unparriable and faster than they normally are and abusing that the one the buffs to a class made his ability hilariously broken to the point that one round was just two raiders charging each other. "Hey don't let them do this." But they said "Well it's our own tourney so they can do it.
heard the tournament was a shitshow from a friend, can anyone confirm or was it just this one guy?
Horribly unbalanced game, players basically turned it into a cheesefest that would normally make you punch through your screen. There were a few good fights, but it sucked mostly.
This game is far too underdeveloped and unbalanced to be anywhere near a 'pro' competition for cash prize.
heard the tournament was a shitshow from a friend, can anyone confirm or was it just this one guy?
So, the tournament basically showed all the flaws with the game currently, and thankfully most of it's being fixed, but it was dominated by 3-4 champions, and in addition was a bunch of people abusing a mechanic where if you unlocked an opponent during certain attacks they would become un-parriable.
Couldn't they have banned the usage of this exploit? Or does the exploit work in a manner that you could do it accidentally, thus making it a pain to regulate or something?
This game is far too underdeveloped and unbalanced to be anywhere near a 'pro' competition for cash prize.
A game doesn't have to be balanced or suited for competitive play to be a successful esport. It just needs an audience. http://wiki.teamliquid.net/hearthstone/2016_Hearthstone_World_Championship

http://wiki.teamliquid.net/hearthstone/2016_Hearthstone_World_Championship
Thats really sad for all esports then. In soccer you don't make one teams goal twice as large as the other team's. That's essentially what's implied when one says "The game in contention doesn't have to be balanced", or for lack of a better word 'fair'. To put it simply, there is no indication that it is a 'sport' unless the rules and design for contention are equally fair to both sides. If the game is anything but equal in design, then the precedent for competition is skewed and thus the word 'sport' can not be applied to the subject matter. A major fallacy, and step backwards in esports, if it ever wants to be taken seriously by anyone other than hardcore gamers. Atrocious.

I guess they decided all's fair. If you can use it, abuse it. Such a stupid tournament. And the guy who won had only been playing for a couple weeks. Haha
I mean if I could win $10,000 by cheating the game I'd do it [editline]14th August 2017[/editline] I'm not going to act like that isn't being selfish but fuck, they really shouldn't have allowed it.
Also he didn't win 10k. He won like 2k.
