While this would obviously be terrible for gaming/general use, I'd actually love one for quick network work. It's got a USB port for an ethernet or serial adapter, wifi, can run a full web browser, and has a full keyboard for quick terminal use. Should get good battery life too with a 2w atom and 720p display on a 6000mAh battery.

Your better off with a Pandora or a pyra.

Yeah but it would be nice to have a full 64bit Intel CPU instead of ARM.

Honestly, this little thing would be absolutely amazing for quick work on servers and network equipment, or in any situation where a tablet would just not cut the job. Tactile keys are a wonderful little thing, but the small keyboard would make you prone for fat fingering your work. But quick troubleshooting, oh yeah this would be awesome.
But a "windows 10 gaming PC" is hugely misleading for this title. Not sure where they get this title where this little box is going to be a tower replacement, you can go ahead and file this one as clickbait.

I guess, but there aren't many utilities from a network administrative/troubleshooting standpoint that aren't available on ARM. I can definitely see the benefit if you are a more windows or vmware based organisation though.
Why would this be terrible for gaming? It'd be awesome to emulate GameCube games and play classics on the go.
That CPU can run most games full speed on Dolphin and can run CS: GO just as well as a console.. Can someone explain all the negativity towards this? I think it's amazing.

the tiny size reminds the detractors of their tiny penises and that upsets them

Absolutely lowest settings seems you can hit 30fps depending on cooling. Doesn't sound that good for CS:GO...

Hey, it's still playable. It's not like it would dip down to 10-20 FPS.
$300 for this is a pretty good deal on kickstarter
You could play other older games like New Vegas and Skyrim too probably
Looks pretty neat
It wont be for heavy gaming, but emulators and low requirement games should run just fine, maybe Xbox One streaming, too
as usual something hosted on indiegogo is going to be extremely suspect... pretty much all of the pictures on that page look like shopped renders, ergo something that isn't allowed on kickstarter for numerous reasons among them that it helps products from being advertised that haven't even been fully prototyped. Even with that said this isn't going to be much of a "gaming" machine for anything other than lightweight applications if it is even real.
For emulators and whatnot I'd still get a Pandora/similar

You're really missing the point of what this is.. Do you really not see the appeal to running pre-2010 PC games on respectable settings, and post-2010 games on low settings? And emulating PSP and GameCube games? Why do people think this is stupid? I don't get it.

You can absolutely play New Vegas and Skyrim at 720p, 30hz on this. There's other Windows tablets that have the older version of this CPU, I have one, and they run decently. Not as good as your desktop, obviously, but it's playable and about as good as a console experience. As long as it has sufficient cooling, you can play a lot with this. How is that not good enough for a portable that fits in your pocket?

GPD has released a few portables before. They're reputable in the portable scene.
For emulators and whatnot I'd still get a Pandora/similar
Why? The Pandora is severely underpowered compared to this. This can run PSP and GameCube games, a Pandora struggles with N64 games and has an ARM CPU. You're extremely limited on a Pandora, or any other ARM-based portable like this because the ARM arch just doesn't have the same support as the x86 arch for the dynarecs that run these emulators. Not to mention you can play PC games. With any other thing, you're limited to what's ported to the platform..
Damn I never go on indiegogo and I kinda want this... Oh shit there's an electric bike too... Uh oh...
Honestly this thing is awesome. The Cherry Trail Atom is perfectly capable of playing oldish games and running some emulators, up to things like the PSP, as well as Source games. They also are perfect for Steam in-home streaming. I'd imagine with a control scheme like this it'd be pretty slick as an on-the-go device.
Yeah the Cherry Trail would be a great streaming device. I hope the N on it is 2x2 MIMO though.

30fps is not playable for multiplayer first person shooters.
[editline]6th April 2016[/editline]
well okay maybe it's playable if it's doing the console level playing field thing, but since this is a PC you could be going up against 165hz gsync quad sli monsters, with a controller no less.

You're not supposed to be playing CS:GO and friends on this. You can totally play skyrim and friends tho.

that's exactly what i was trying to say though
Backed it anyway. Even if it's a glorified pre-order, it's probably cheaper than buying it at launch and it seems like a pretty cool device to have.
Was this invented by someone who has no IDEA what a laptop is???

This company is more than capable to manufacture hardware without crowdfunding, so this project is essentially just a glorified preordering platform. You should wait until people get their hands on it so that you can get to know if it's worth buying.
One of their latest devices seems to be quite good, so the windows 10 one will hopefully also be good.

Kinda offtopic, indiegogo and similar websites make me worried. I don't understand how so many people buy in to all these gimmicks, ripoffs, pseudo scientific innovations, and snake oils.
How can people with this much disposable income have such terrible critical thinking? Do these people buy junk to get some very temporary excitement?
everything about them screams knockoff brand so backing this would be an awful idea
then again, the design of a controller built into the keyboards actually really awesome

No, it was designed by someone that knows the concept of ultraportables.
