I did look for trailer or demonstration, but none were thrilling or interesting, and one was annoyingly sexist
Lemme guess, they had some T&A mod activated and are thus a part of the evil patriarchy trying to destroy women?
This is ridiculously late.
Lemme guess, they had some T&A mod activated and are thus a part of the evil patriarchy trying to destroy women?
ES mod videos seem to have a tendency of showing completely unrelated mods using a female character that's barely clothed, it's not only annoying and awkward but also it is a kind of saddening example of the community's attitude towards women

Yeah some nude mod on nexus may get like 100k downloads but the actual game itself was bought on PC like a blazillion times more than that. The nude mods users are in the far minority, they are just rather vocal about it.
I don't really care about the nude mods, they could fall into the realm of graphics and realism just as easily (as long as you installed both male and female ones), I care about the number of 'sexy' clothing mods and the amount of people using them, it's embarassing.

They mentioned it specifically because it's a subtle-yet-provocative statement that can potentially generate a bit of extra traffic.
I've seen this mod in Steam Workshop since like 2 years ago.
I think it's because they actually care about these things, not because it's supposedly generating traffic.
In this context there is no other reason to mention a random, controversial yet unrelated video you found. Yes John Walker (who did not write this article btw) is big on that subject right now but he keeps it in places where it's relevant, and in this case it is not relevant at all. Besides, it's not like RPS hasn't pulled this crap before. One of the articles that made Garry axe them was a blatant filler article about a very low-quality Skyrim mod that happened to involve ponies. The author of that article knew what kind of attention that was going to get, and he got it.
Aren't they just incredibly scaled up regular skyrim monsters? That seems really silly...

What's so bad about giving a shit about this issue anyway?

He doesn't even imply that it's a common problem with mod videos, he just says "this one video was sexist." For all we know he could have seen 20 videos that were just really poor quality and that was the only one he found sexist. But he brought it up anyway, which is completely unnecessary if not purposefully provocative. No, it's not a bad thing to care about that particular video, but neither the content of that video nor any of the others is relevant beyond the fact that he didn't want to post them on the website and that's why there's no video. Posting irrelevant information, especially irrelevant information that you know many readers don't like seeing, is unprofessional and the only reason you'd want to do it is to provoke people.
you care way too much bro

Maybe if these guys ever met a woman in their life I'd give them the benefit of the doubt and say they were making a statement against women, or were projecting their feelings of "women as objects" through their sexy sex mods, but I think the case is that they don't know any better. No disrespect to people who install sexy sex mods for kicks, just don't show that stuff off when you're trying to be taken seriously. I can't believe you're making such a big deal about the implications one subordinate clause of one sentence in one paragraph of one pc gaming blog - it reeks of some kind of persecution complex. He says that none of the videos were thrilling or interesting and one was annoyingly sexist - it's not directly relevant to the mod but it's a) an explanation for why there's no video and b) makes the sentence a bit more interesting than 'I did not like any of the videos for this mod because none of them were good so here's some pictures thanks'. And as for 'information that many readers don't like seeing' - why shouldn't they like seeing decently written editorials mentioning the PROVABLE sexism that exists within this medium? If people don't like seeing that to the point where they'll complain when it's even mentioned in PASSING, they're in so much denial that they might as well be defending the sexism/gender imbalance [editline]5th May 2013[/editline]
Embarrassing and sad, yes, but I wouldn't call it sexist. guys skyrim is getting its first DLC too someone report this to rps
Aren't they just incredibly scaled up regular skyrim monsters? That seems really silly...
The oversized hitboxes would cause insane amounts of bullshit.

http://www.youtube.com/user/GophersVids He's never reviewed mods like that, and he actually has a decent lp of skyrim/fallout 3 from a rper and modders point of view
got a little excited for a moment because I made a mod for April Fools Day that filled all the cities with aggressive horkers and I thought this might have been about that
leave it to FP and their political correctness to turn a mod about up-scaled lazy monsters into bullshit about feminism
leave it to FP and their political correctness to turn a mod about up-scaled lazy monsters into bullshit about feminism
well, leave it to FP to read incredibly deeply into a videogame blog post for no particular reason
