Then learn.
You would have to be a dumb ass to not know to work vista.
If you can't use vista you should get a mac. (not a recommendations) Vista is very similar to XP, when it comes to use (file navigation ect.) Make sure you buy a vista with win7 upgrade, too.
Use Vista, It's cheaper, especially since it's so similar to 7, and you may want that soon.

Get Vista. XP doesn't support DirectX 9. In about a year, you're going to have to upgrade to at least Vista, preferably Windows 7. [editline]06:54PM[/editline] That and XP 64 bit is a joke.
XP doesn't support DirectX 10.
ok im not gonna get vista. who cares about that now but is the comp alright?

It's absolute garbage. Get windows XP for sure. Also, that computer is good, but make sure you are not getting ripped on the price.
Vista doesnt even make a good beer coaster. It's absolute garbage.
I'd love to hear why. Sounds like typical :bandwagon: hate.
I hate it because it's locked up tighter than a nun's panties. There's so much fucking security on everything, it feels like I'm going through airport security for a simple file operation. I've had moments where I've had to authorize security for another security operation, it's like compound fucking security. It shoves a pole up your ass for every small little thing you do, it's like it's treating you as some sort of hacker, but when you actually have a geniune security threat to your PC, it actually makes it harder to deal with the problem. Aside from that, it takes up a fairly large amount of memory just to run the operating system, and it looks stupid and pseudo-mac. They changed the locations of a lot of basic features, and once you really learn every corner of XP, it becomes hard to switch to vista because a lot of functions are performed differently. Then there's the compatibility issues, many small homebrewed programs that you may need to for various game design/programming aspects don't actually work, because there are compatibility issues. (changing compatibility mode doesn't work all the time) I've had Vista for the last two years, and It constantly fucks me up when I need it to work. For some everyday average hipster-loser it might make a decent OS because it's shiny and flashy, but when you really have to dig around in your computer and do some hard work, it becomes a real pain in the ass to use. and don't even get me started on the fucking DRM.

Also I take it you haven't heard of SuperFetch? You can turn that off if you really don't like the idea of the OS trying to cache your most commonly used programs. Okay I could see some compatibility issues happening, but that may be just in YOUR case. That doesn't mean the rest of us experience them. I for one have experienced no problems with Vista along those lines.

Get off the and try living with it for a month.
I've lived with it for 2 years, dipshit. You guys make up the average percent of 13 year old's who like the interface, but never actually have to do real work on it. Have you ever talked with coders about their experiences with Vista? Go try that. if you think I am giving it shit, you've seen nothing.
Because I'm totally 13. [editline]10:11PM[/editline] Also, I've extensively used Vista, 7, and XP. I'd jump for Vista over XP any day, except on a computer incapable of Aero.
Well, stupid operating systems are built for stupid people. Good day, sir.
Your arguments are flawed, after Zorlock pointed out the errors in your argument you just fell back to flaming. Saying " u guys r 13 yr olds that just liek it because its purdy" isn't a compelling argument, unless you can actually point out flaws with vista please leave.
If you get XP, your going to be left behind, the support ends soon, because more people are switching to Vista or 7.
And if he gets vista now he'll be able to upgrade to Win7 anyway.
If you can't understand Vista thats strange, I had no trouble switching from XP to Vista. If you still don't get how to use Vista get "Vista for Dummies".

this reminds me of IE vs FF a while ago. "Ask a coder, its easier to code for IE than FF" now its like "if you want a good userbase, you have to code seperately for IE, because it sucks so much" (this is where IE = XP and FF = Vista) [sp] aka: people used to say its difficult coding for vista, but soon, people will think its difficult coding for XP because its so old[/sp]
Question, has anyone had a problem with Vista that when you open up IE that it just keeps opening and opening and doesn't stop.........
No, use FF.
I do, but whenever I accidently knock the IE shortcut it does that and not even task manager can stop it! Firefox doesn't do that though?
Check the shortcut, someone could be messing with you. [editline]03:52AM[/editline] Or it could be a virus, do a scan.
