On what grounds are you saying you should get 140+ ?
Also, what are the specs of your computer?
Damn, only 70fps on a 5850?
I thought 5850 was meant to kick ass? :/

It is. If the rest of your specs are decent, aswell.
Either the OP's other specs are shit, or he's got a faulty card.
Post your full specs. If you have a low-end C2D, it will bottleneck the 5850.
Core i5, Antec 550w psu, ati 5850, asus p7p55d mobo, 500gb WD hdd

i wonder if i connected it to the psu right?
[editline]02:44PM[/editline]
i have one 6 pin connector going from the pain part into the graphics card, then i plugged in another 6 pin connector directly into the psu (its modular)
Could there be a slight possibility that the PSU is under powered?
On another note: Fail name. First 10'er, December 2009.
Try it in crysis or simmilar game and see if that does get satisfactory fps.
(Might be just l4d)

So, do you have 2 connectors going into the card, or only one?
Also, what are you using for your resolution?
